""˜Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold.'"
"” Matthew 24:11"“12

Something that has burdened my heart for more than 20 years now is why so few followers of biblically false personalities claiming to be "Christian" divorce themselves from that figure when it is proved that that such are false either by their fraudulent activities, when they prophesy something in the name of the Lord which fails to come true, and/or their own teaching laid side-by-side with God's Word is proven to be nothing short of heresy. For example:

  • The local hospital holds a press conference to confirm that contrary to Todd Bentley's claims, there was not a single confirmation that any of the so-called miracles performed were true, directly contradicting his assertions to the contrary. On top of that he leaves his wife and children for the proverbial church secretary and yet none of these things persuade his followers of the truth about this heretic.
  • You can print out entire websites devoted to documenting the false prophecies uttered by Benny Hinn for the last 15 years. (The really short list is comprised of those which came true.) No one leaves; he is bigger than ever.
  • The public exposure of Ted Haggard's secret life of sex and drugs should have come as no surprise after the years of discernment ministries documenting his false teachings. Nobody in his following slapped their head, repented, and saw this as evidence to change their ways on either count. Like a recurring movie monster who simply makes another sequel, people are once again flocking in significant numbers to him.

With the huge number of "discernment ministries" filling cyberspace who daily document and warn about these and an embarrassingly large host of others, why is it that the truth rarely seems to work? Remember"¦I am not talking about the unsaved outside the church; this is a phenomenon limited to those within the church.

Where Are All the Servants?

"But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ. But the greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted." (Matthew 23:8-12)

And there arose also a dispute among them as to which one of them was regarded to be greatest. And He said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who have authority over them are called "˜Benefactors.' But it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant. For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves." (Luke 22:24-27)

[caption id="attachment_6264" align="alignright" width="125" caption="The Benny Hinn Ten Commandments Paperweight"]The Benny Hinn Ten Commandments Paperweight[/caption]

It was not that long ago when we could purchase the "Benny Hinn Olive Oil" in exchange for a $200 donation which not only netted a bottle of extra virgin olive oil with Benny's portrait prominently displayed on the label, but a promise to plant an olive tree in our name in Israel. But not to worry if you missed out on the olive oil. A quick glance at Mr. Hinn's website reveals quite a number of products which are readily available. For instance we are offered the "Holy Land Candle Lantern" which is "accompanied by a scroll with a special message from Pastor Benny" and is "filled with the fragrance of frankincense". Then there is the "Sword of the Word Letter Opener" purported to be "perfect for your home office or workplace". And let us not forget the "Ten Commandments Tablet Paperweight" which is "perfect in time for holiday gift-giving". I only selected three from many pages of items for sale through his website. But taken together with the activities of his ministry and teachings which are a matter of public record, not to mention his millionaire lifestyle of mansions and private jets, can you seriously look me in the eye and state with confidence that he meets the biblical criteria which Jesus Christ Himself set forth for spiritual leaders? Does the purveyor of Christian knick-knacks embody what you would call a "servant"?

Ted Haggard, the disgraced ex-pastor of a 14,000 member Colorado megachurch, has announced in a press conference that, in spite of a promise not to do so, he is planting a new church in his home town of Colorado Springs. On his website, he writes, "St. James Church is for anyone, and I do mean anyone: Democrats, Republicans, Independents and those who go to Tea Party rallies. If you are straight, gay, or bi, I want to walk through the Scriptures with you. If you are black, white, Hispanic (sic), native American, or a confusing combination, you are welcome here. Those working to overcome their sex or drug addictions, St. James is for you"¦. Adulterers, Ex-con. Everyone is welcome."

Few of us who have followed Haggard's fall of shame in the last few years are surprised by this announcement. And there is a very good reason why: Christian or not, evangelical or not, Ted Haggard is the poster child of a classic pathological narcissist.

Midrash and Jacob Prasch

What does the Word of God Actually Say About Midrash?

"Now the remainder of the deeds of of Abijah, and his ways and words are written in the 'MIDRASH' [ מִדְרַ֖שׁ ] of the Prophet Iddo". (2 Chronicles 13:22)

(Directly from the God-given text of original, divinely inspired Hebrew canon.)

"As to his sons and many oracles [burdens] against him, and the reconstruction of the House of God, behold these are written in the 'MIDRASH' [ מִדְרַ֖שׁ ] of the Book of kings. Then Amaziah his son became King in his place". (2 Chronicles 24:27)

(Directly from the God-given text of original, divinely inspired Hebrew canon.)

Yes friends, it is a fact; it is there in Scripture. "MIDRASH" is plainly taught in the Word of God. It is cited as a valid historical source and as a theological source of a prophetic interpretation of scriptural events and biblical history. GOD PUT IT IN HIS WORD "“ NOT JACOB PRASCH OR ANY MAN.

Question on the Sermon "The Plastic Bible"

A Reader Writes:

Hi there,

In the April newsletter, The Plastic Bible, Jacob has asked a question. I suppose it is actually rhetorical, and he doesn't really want an answer, but I'm going to give him one anyway. The question is: "Where does the King James justify using the word "Easter"?"

Although the Greek plainly says pascha, which we would normally translate Passover, the context indicates that that is not what is meant here. Acts 12:3 says, "...Then were the days of unleavened bread." Passover is the 14th of Nisan. That's a single day and night. Followed by 7 days of unleavened bread. If it was during the days of unleavened bread, clearly Passover had been and gone. Herod was by no means concerned about doing away with anyone on the Passover. Jesus was sacrificed at Passover. Furthermore he was a pagan. Obviously he didn't want to mess up his own religious feast, the one which comes from Eostre, Ashtoreth, etc. Whether the AV translators substituted Passover for Easter with complete understanding, or as it were accidentally, doesn't really matter. The hand of God was on them and they got it right. Easter, Herod's pagan festival, is the one which should be named here.

Response to Israeli Blockade Action

And Reaction To Biased Media Interpretations of These Events

31st May, 2010

Moriel is not a political organization and engages in diverse humanitarian activity itself from Africa, the Middle East, and Asia to Haiti. Moriel does not give carte blanch to Israel or any other government to do as it wishes in violation of the protocols of human civility, our views of the scripturally prophetic significance of contemporary Middle East events notwithstanding.

Moriel does however, defend both the rights of Christians persecuted brutally and savagely throughout the Islamic world to the near silence of the international media and the right of the Judeo-Christian world to defend itself from the militant Islamic aggression that saw everything from the London tube and bus bombings, to the September 11th attacks, to the Paris riots, to the Sydney riots, to the Bradford riots, to the Mumbai Massacre, to the Dutch Van Gough murders, to countless other inhumane atrocities perpetrated in the name of Islam, many of which are directed against other Muslims such as that which transpired the previous day in the mosque attacks in Pakistan.

A Reader Sent the Following Question:

I am sorry to trouble you with this question but hope you can help.

I am in the process of having to deal with a Ruckmanite who is causing real problems in a Church. I have pointed out to him a copyist error in the KJV and cannot come up with any other explanation than the fact that it is a copyist error that has crept into the translation. The 2 paralell passages in question are 2 Chronicles 22vs 2 & 2 Kings 8 vs 26.

2 Chronicles 22:2

" Forty and two years old was Ahaziah whn he began to reign and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri"

2 Kings 8:26

Two & Twenty Years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign: and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mothers name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri"

I have checked some other translations which suggest he was 22 on both counts. I have also read an attempt by a KJV nut to try an explain it and it was absolutely crazy. I know that the Individual in question will revert to M. Ruckman & Mr. Gipp personally on this issue and further more my knowledge in this area is clearly limited.

The Variorum has in its footnote that 2 Chronicles 22:2 should be 22 and not 42. The NIV & Darby Translation have it on both occasions at age 22.

Thanks for your help I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Stewart Dool Now with Jesus

It is with great regret that we announce the loss of our friend and brother Stewart Dool, director of Intercessors For Britain (IFB).

Stewart has gone home with Jesus to his reward after having been a solid voice for truth and righteousness in an age of decline both in contemporary society and the church. His battle with motor neuron disease has been cruel and while we rejoice his suffering temporal is ended and his blessings eternal have commenced, we express our deepest condolences in Jesus to his beloved wife Jenny and their children for whom we request prayer. We also request prayer for the future of the much needed ministry of IFB.

Until we are rejoined with him we shall always remember Stewart as a staunch friend of Israel and the Jews with a desire to sees Jewish souls reconciled to their Messiah. Stewart's gain is indeed our loss.

In Jesus,
Jacob Prasch & Moriel

A number of websites reacted unfavorably to an advertised conference scheduled to take place at the Calvary Chapel in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA where Skip Heitzig is pastor. Moriel also posted these reports after being contacted by various Calvary Chapel pastors and people, mainly in the USA. Mr. Sweet is by no scriptural standard a Christian, but by every reasonable standard a New Age mystic and a pure Gnostic. It was therefore with some delight we are informed from the USA that the event has been cancelled.

Passing of Jews for Jesus Founder

From David Brickner, Executive Director of Jews for Jesus

Moishe went to be with his Messiah and Lord on May 19th. We are rejoicing for him but appreciate your prayers for the Rosen family and for our whole ministry as we mourn our loss. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that gifts be made in his honor to Jews for Jesus, 60 Haight Street, San Francisco, CA 94102 for the Moishe Rosen Center in Israel. You can do this online at: jewsforjesus.org/moishetribute

Jacob's Thoughts

I (Jacob Prasch) writing from Holland mourn the passing of my friend and our brother Moishe Rosen, founder of Jews for Jesus. Few have had the impact on my own life and ministry as Moishe Rosen and I am hardly alone in saying this.
